To activate your copy of a Microsoft Windows operating system, you must locate the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) on your computer and enter the product key. COA’s can be in a variety of locations on your computer, even under the battery.

KEYS NOT WORKING?

Microsoft has turned off a number of keys on your keyboard
during this activation process. Don’t worry about a few keys not working and finish
activating your Windows. Keyboards rarely fail and all the keys should be working after
activation.

Trouble Activating Windows:

Multiple COA’s: Some computers (often those with Windows XP Home or Professional) may have two COA’s on them. If you have two COA’s, make sure you are using the one that says “REFURBISHED PC” on the label (see below).

Making sure it is entered correctly: Copy the COA from the label onto a piece of paper. Double check to make sure it is correct. Pay close attention to 8′s that could look like B’s, O’s that can be mistaken for Q’s and such. Enter the COA using the piece of paper.

Activate Windows over the phone: Call toll-free 888-571-2048 to speak with a Microsoft customer service representative – they can help you activate Windows if you are still having trouble.
